Publication Ethics
Nuraga: Journal of Education and Learning Insights is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity, transparency, and ethical publishing practices at all stages of the publication process. This statement serves as a guideline for editors, reviewers, authors, and the publisher in maintaining the quality and credibility of scholarly publications. The journal follows the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
1. Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication
The publication of articles in Nuraga: Journal of Education and Learning Insights is an essential contribution to the advancement of knowledge in education and learning. All parties involved in the publication process are expected to adhere to principles of honesty, objectivity, professionalism, and academic integrity.
2. Duties of Editors
Editors are responsible for:
- Making publication decisions based on the manuscript’s academic merit, originality, relevance, and alignment with the journal’s focus and scope.
- Ensuring a fair, objective, and double-blind peer-review process.
- Maintaining the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
- Managing ethical issues such as plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, and duplicate publication, in accordance with COPE guidelines.
- Avoiding discrimination based on gender, religion, nationality, ethnicity, or institutional affiliation.
- Handling conflicts of interest appropriately and transparently.
3. Duties of Reviewers
Reviewers are expected to:
- Provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations.
- Maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript under review.
- Identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
- Avoid and disclose any conflicts of interest.
- Refrain from using any information obtained through peer review for personal advantage.
4. Duties of Authors
Authors are responsible for:
- Submitting original work free from plagiarism.
- Ensuring the accuracy, validity, and reliability of data and findings.
- Avoiding multiple, redundant, or concurrent submissions.
- Properly acknowledging all sources through accurate citation (APA 7th edition).
- Including as authors only those who have made a significant scholarly contribution.
- Disclosing any conflicts of interest and funding sources.
- Ensuring compliance with research ethics, including ethical approval (where applicable).
- Disclosing the use of AI tools, if any, in accordance with the journal’s policy.
5. Plagiarism Policy
Nuraga: Journal of Education and Learning Insights does not tolerate plagiarism in any form. All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism will be rejected or retracted, depending on the severity of the violation.
6. Conflicts of Interest
All parties involved in the publication process (authors, editors, and reviewers) must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence the objectivity of the work.
7. Data Access and Retention
Authors are encouraged to retain and provide access to research data where appropriate to allow verification of results. Data sharing should comply with ethical standards, privacy considerations, and applicable regulations.
8. Ethical Oversight
Research involving human participants, animals, or sensitive data must comply with recognized ethical standards and obtain approval from a relevant ethics committee. Authors must clearly state ethical approval and informed consent where applicable.
9. Handling of Misconduct
All allegations of research or publication misconduct will be handled seriously, fairly, and transparently. The journal follows COPE procedures in investigating cases of misconduct, which may result in actions such as corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions, depending on the severity of the issue.
